Autumn 2 2019 Update:

We have started this term looking at the Hindu festival Diwali. We have enjoyed learning about the ‘Festival of Light’ and also hearing the story of Rama and Sita. Watch the story below:

Autumn Term 1 2019 update:

The children have been very busy this term exploring their topic ‘Incredible Me’.

We have learnt all about our bodies and also looked at pets and other animals.

We have also been busy watching the season change to Autumn and have been making the most of the outdoors during this time.

Carrying on our theme of Light and Fire we looked at the time in history.
‘The Great Fire of London’.

The children have thoroughly enjoyed this topic and have taken part in lots of different activities.

We re-enacted the events of that fateful time in our own bakery: 

We found out what happened in 1666 from the events recorded in Samuel Pepys diary. We wrote some of our own fantastic diary entries pretending to re-live the events of the fire.

We made our own models of the houses found during that time:

We also painted our own night sky artwork:

We finished our topic off by having a visit from our local fire service who showed us the difference between how they tackled fires in the past compared to now.
